That town is called Coober Pedy. I haven't been there as such, but yes, it's an old opal mining community. People dig out there own homes and reap the benfits of the opals they find. Smile

It's cold right now, but Canada has such a spread in terms of the temps. in winter and summer, it's not even remotely funny. In the winter, it's not inconcievable to see -40C to -50C, and in the summer, 35C to 40C isn't unexpected. I'd argue it's much more painful to be in 40C after a season of -40 than it is to spend a summer in 45-50C after a winter of 35-40C.

SJ, canada seems to have extreme wheather. The temperature difference that I see is of hardly 25-30C :lol:
