Not 100% sure, but try looking for the DOS VM shortcut, it should be somewhere in your windows folder.

Try changing the properties of it.

Or you could use the task manager to set priority.. but then you'd have to change it each time.

^^ I believe it was:

- Right-click the DOS exe file
- Select Properties
- Select the Tab Misc
- Change the Idle Sensitivity slider


And to select a default option:
Go to C:\WINNT, C:\WINDOWS, C:\WHATEVER, and look up the _default msdos shortcut. Right-click it, select properties to change the default properties of windows.
