I recently red in the newspaper that (in short) a truck damage the road the same amount like 84000 usual car, and that in our country the government tries to introduce new tolls for it, but it was attacked by carriers. It is not too hard to find out why: their payment is low. The companies needing transportation actually not paying enough to keep up the transportation system (here the roads), so they drain it out from the tax. If it was told to them that "hey, pay more, you are pirating with our resources!" (not think of just roads), they would simply move to an another cheaper country. The race is on: the loser is the mid - class who is rich enough to pay tax, but not enough to pirate with it. So it is some sort of modern slavery.
I just would like to ask it peacefully...
Where are our laws, democracy, and equality now??!!
(Just because there are people around being very proud of this. I can not really see it...)

I understand what you mean SC. Here in PR, trucks do pay more tolls, but they usually overload their cargo and completely destroy the roads (you can see on some roads the grooves when they brake, since the asphalt is hot because of the sun and the friction of truck tires doesn't help). they speed and cut people off on the highway. Then they go to the capitol and demand more rights and privilages and go on strike, blocking important transit roads, and then wonder why everyone hates them. :roll:

Actually yes, but only if you think about it before 1922, before Stalin.
Rhiannon: You misunderstood it a little. The visible problem is actually what you wrote, but if the government rise the tolls carriers would simply break. They are not getting enough payment from multis to support the upkeep of the roads, so the real "pirate of the roads" are those multinational companies. They evade tax this way.
