Well, I WAS going to show Hellbound this cool web site for VB6 and recommend Visual Basic 6 For Dummies by Wallace Wang, but he's going to FreeBasic, so...

I have an insult generator that can be found on my website that I made with VB6. I had a version 2 of my insult generator, but for some reason it fuguritively blew up and I had to uninstall VB6 because it complained about an out of memory error in my program AND some of the components wouldn't work AND it would crash when I tried to open a form. Didn't do this before. I wonder what happened.

Now I stick to QBASIC because it doesn't crash. Plus I've worked on a couple simple games in it.

Heh, you should convert that insult program to a PHP or Perl script, and post it on a website... that'd be a neat one.

Except I don't know perl or PHP. Just some HTML, some Javascript, some VBscript, some QBASIC, some VisualBasic, and some DarkBasic. As you can see, I'm not very advanced. I like to call myself a programmer, but I'm really not.

I've been experimenting with random generators with Javascript. I've created a Sonic the Hedgehog Level Name Generator and a Skateboard Trick Name Generator with JScript. I also created some Mad-Lib like games with VBScript. Maybe I'll post them on my website.

Wow. That sounds exactly like what happened to my copy of vb6. One day it just stopped working, gave strange errors and crashed when I tried to open a program's form.

I reinstalled it but it didnt help. Then I went back to it like 5 weeks later and all was fine and dandy again. Tch.

Well, if you're interested in learning either php or perl, they're both really easy languages. If you post the insult generator i'll convert it for you as an example.

VB.NET is VB7 (I think they go by years now, VB.NET 2005, etC), Microsoft just pulled a "Photoshop CS" on you.

The .NET framework is something Microsoft is trying to push as a sort of a xml-over-internet transfer of information. So, now all your MS compilers that support it end in .NET.
