Winsock - recieving data and inputing text

I'm trying to recieve data from the other peer and input text from the user at the same time.

This is so I can make a simple peer to peer chat thing.
I can already connect peers but I can't get the data and input at the same time
(recv waits for data to come in)

Suggestions?
