MSN question
#1
My sister installed this stupid 'druggie' hack for MSN (changes menu options, changes smilies, etc...), and a reinstallation fixed most of it, but there's still a pot leaf in the background of the main display. Does anyone happen to know where that image is stored?

First (of course) try checking the MSN Messenge directory, e.g. C:\Program Files\Messenger.
If it's not there, try the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

Unless someone knows exactly how that hack works, you probably won't find the picture. It could even be stored in some DLL.

Try contacting the makers of the hack - Ask your sister where she got it. If they aren't losers, they'll tell you how to permanently remove it.

Another thing, I have a bunch of problems with MSN, it kept screwing up on sign-in, and every once in a while I have to completely re-install it, i.e. un-install it completely, and download a different version of the software, and then install.

If you're using version 5.0, get 4.7. I found it actually better. And, of course, if you have 4.7, switch to 5.0.
f only life let you press CTRL-Z.

Yeah, well I actually selected the 'repair' option rather than completely removing and re-installing... So I'll probably try that. I think you need 5.0 to use Plus!.

A removal and reinstallation didn't make any difference. And oddly enough, the Plus! hack has remained through all of this...

Try searching through your registry, for msn or something like that, i dont know how effective that will be.

And I havnt had any problems with my msn of version 3. or was it 2? i dont know, anyways i havent updated in over a year, and all still works great.
