I know you ment well and all, but I don't want any part in this discussion. I've always used ugl and I've always used rellib (both of course, since they were invented).
I guess I can't stay out of it now anyways. And this topic is way too old for replying but I'll do it anyways.
It's a shame that nobody uses... hey, somebody does, what about syn? ... anyways, ugl deserved some attention that it never got.
But Blitz, I've advertised a lot of places for it, and many times I got something like this: "Sure, it's probably great and all. But I'm not going to use it." Why not?? "I'm just not going to use it. I hate Blitz." - ok, maybe not that harsh, but that was sure what they ment. When I first met you, you was this freindly guy that knew just about anything. You helped me serveral times with stuff, even though I've probably asked a lot of stupid questions.
And there's no doubt that your libary is the fastest. And after adding sound also very complete.
I remember hanging out at the dot!net-studios channel. You had a little (little? hmm, maybe that's an underestimate) fight with Pasco and his freinds.
Then they released Bork Proto. Pretty cool thing. No miracle. But pretty cool. And I commented it in your channel. And this guy... Generic, right? went crazy and started flaming me. Actually, I hate that guy now. So I left the channel and I havn't been there since. Crazy man. It's just IRC right. People talk a lot of crap there. So, whatever. How does this relate to Blitz? Well, I have the feeling that it's excatly what's happened between him and half of the community. He took over Generics attitude.
But really, personally, when I talk to this guy, he's helpful. He's nice too. I just wish you'd lay off that attitude. But I guess it's too late for that now. Yeah.

Have you ever asked me what I think? Well, maybe I should just tell you then. I think you're a very good programmer, probably even better than me (which is hard to do considering I'm the smartest person ever). And your work with UGL is so excellent that it makes me want to cry with tears of joy mixed with tears of sadness and a little bit of glass.
