Frantic Journey is *now* underway in FB. Let’s go!!
#11
To all of you now:

Hold everything please, ‘cause I have some exciting things to say tonight!! Are you ready? :wtnod:

I want to announce to you that as the development of Frantic Journey (FJ) in FreeBASIC continues onward, I have just setted up another one of my fonts, only this time it has been extended!! Big Grin Now what do I mean by extended? I mean simply that the font here has just jacked up the extra custom features (EXCLUSIVE for the reprogramming of this shmup in FB! Wink ) such as:
  • • Custom Scaling and Italicization (once again, ala RelLib!! Cool=b ! ).........

    • .....Custom Gamma Effects in 8-bit mode.....
    [Image: file.php?id=86] [Image: file.php?id=87]

    • .....and, Custom Colors!!! :king:
......and that is all my own custom font, entirely and faithfully reprogrammed in FB without the use/involvement of sprites or PP256 there at all. Boy, just makes you wanna say “WOW!!!” out loud in spades, don’t it now? Big Grin !!

Be seeing you all later as you marvel this one right here, wonderful folks!!! Peace!! :king:

To Richard Eric M. Lope (aka Relsoft) again:

Yes!! Big Grin=b ! However, it was done only on my custom font that I have just showed you, my man Rel. Right now, I am doing all I can in this very project to help do something rather amazing that FreeBASIC has NEVER done before in an 8-bit 320x200 mode that I am planning to use for Frantic Journey (FJ), just like it was done for QuickBASIC from at least a couple of years ago. Hey, I sure got a *long* road ahead of me here, but you know what, I will do my utmost best to the fullest, I shall promise you that! Wink

Be talking to you now, and thanks so much for your fine question indeed!! (^_-)v

To Sumo Jo:

As for this project’s completion progress so far, all I can safely say in advance here is that it is too early for me to tell when. The reason on this is because I have from just within this last month (May 2005) first began the project in FB for an entire reprogramming, so let us just confess here that I am re-doing the coding of FJ from the VERY ground up, you know what I am saying? Wink Also, Sumo Jo, I already made a clear decision some months back that the game itself will be transferred from QB to FB. Period. Part of it simply is because of the *major* advantages that FB has over QB (like the actual ability to compile larger and longer-lined source code much more than QB ever even had, that sort of thing!! d=Big Grin=b ). Another part is the great ability for the program to actually work in Windows XP as well without the fumbling of EMS, sound slave engines, and all that from when the game was first introduced in QB.

And man, I am starting to feel real glad that I have made the switch from QB to FB on this, too! :king: Not to worry though, I still use good ‘ol QB for some hard-hitting coding practice to get me ready to crank up some dead-serious FB code work big-time, which is not even a bad idea, actually! Big Grin !

With all of that said, be seeing you again as well. Thanks so much for your question, by the way! Cool=b
