I'm looking for movie making software and i'm on a budget: A friend of mine mentioned this one freeware movie making software the he claimed trumped even adobe premier, but i'm afraid i can't remember what it was called... it started with s or something, but that's all.
also, does anyone have any good suggestions for movie making software? Of course, it'll have to be able to import video from a cameracorder, let me edit it and export it.
thanks.

The most common video editing programs I've came across are Studio 9 (you can get a free version with some ati cards), FinalCut and Premiere.
I found this while searching google:

Don't know how well it will help.

If you're not going to do any serious editing & stuff you could just use the M$ movie maker thingo.

'*ducks*' is right.
Avid, the company that produces the best movie editing software in the world (I did a case study of a post production department one and I have seen this stuff operate) has a Lite version of it's software. It's like a 70 meg download or something, availible totally free and uncrippled. It's excellent, and a good step to professional editing.
Whenever I use freeware editing tools, that is the best. Otherwise, pay 1000 bucks or Torrent a copy of Final Cut.
