Maybe one of you guys with a good knowledge of API might like to experiment with a free DDL to enable speech to be produced from Text, if no one has already done this with QB or FB. You can download the DLLs etc from
http://sionet.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/speech.zip
you will find a STM.DLL along with code originally for RapidQ to enable programs to be written allowing the speech to be produced from text. The author stated he has not objection to the DLLs being used for other languages. If you want to see working examples produced with the help of others look at wpeech2.bas and wtalker2.bas in below using Liberty Basic
http://sionet.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/LBlearn.zip
As warned some systems need a special patch downloading from MSN, but I find it easier to install Speakonia from
http://www.cfs-technologies.com/
which seems to install the necessary patches.
