Need of an artist
#1
Im making an RPG called Zic.

Story:
Zic lives in a village, and one day he wakes up to discover the village has been conquered by demons.
It's up to Zic to rescue the village...

The story will be short...kinda minirpg-ish.

Engine features:
-Pixel * pixel scrolling
-Moving scripted NPCs
-Realtime battles (spells)
-A scriptengine which I have coded that supports nested IFs.
-MIDIs for background music
-Unlimited map size
-Unlimited amount of tiles and sprites (well the system RAM is the limit, but with today's 1GB RAM bricks thats not gonna be a problem ^^)
-Multiple layers (one ground layer, and one roof layer, the roof dissapear when you walk into a building, thinking of making the roof fade away)
-And it also supports really crappy characters...which is where YOU come in. I need someone to do character art for my game...

To say it right out, I cant draw to save my life...

Basically all that is coded so far is the engine, so if you want another story that's fine with me.
If you think you can make art for my game, post here or PM me.

I would suggest using ripped graphics (from some console RPG) until you make a demo. Once you actually have something to show, you're much more likely to find an artist.

I say get everything workng using squares or circles first, my first RPG demo (just to show off what it did (which was very little)) used nothing more than a blue square and a pink square, you was the blue one, a NPC was represented by the pink one. Once i was sure everything was working i began adding sprites.

Off Topic: I'm still working on the RPG (currently code named forest) simplifying it and stuff, seperating it into seperate files, so all the sprites are one file, the subs are all seperate files, the sprites are data (used bmp - DATA convertor) and make up something like 67 kb (un compiled) of the file (it was 100 something, now the main .bas file is just 20 something).

Also think I found an artist...
