I can't get me Basic program to work on my computer. It did before i had to slam my computer (about a year ago i'm so lazy) and now i can't even find where to get it..so this is what i need from you guys
1. a place to get Q basic
2. how to instal it
3. a puppy! (please I'll love him and care...)

Version 4.5 is the best one from these: it requies no installation, just unpack it to some folder.

This is a modern version of Basic supporting 32bit OSses (Windows, Linux), and it can complie most of the usual old QB stuff.

Regarding the PUPPY:
If you live in the USA, look up the ASPCA, the Dog Pound, or any related Animal Shelter in your town or city. They sometimes have puppies which they give away for the cost of the shots that they need. If they don't have any now, leave your name and number, and call back in a week or so.
Another idea is to post a sign at your school's bulletin board saying that you are looking for a free puppy. Lot's of people have dogs that have puppies and then they can't give them all away.
If your local supermarket has a bulletin board, post a sign there too.

Regarding QB: The "best" version that runs on DOS would be VB-DOS; it allows code generation for the 386 and has a number of other improvements over previous versions (4.5, 7.x, etc...).

Just a quick reminder...
Version 4.5 has the most
game libraries that are compatible right out of the box. Most of the other versions require you to do some tweaking about to get the libs to run right.

µGL is the only game lib for QB you'll ever need, and it works with VB DOS out of the box. :king:
