Costa 0.8.0 released
#1
I've just released version 0.8.0 of my QBasic GUI, Costa for MS-DOS. It has many new features, including themes and multiuser support.
No accessories are included (didn't wanna include half-finished tools), but it's still a fully functional GUI.

You can download Costa here: http://www.jacobpalm.dk/archive/Costa080.zip

Or, if you want more information about this beta, read this forum topic: http://www.jacobpalm.dk/thread.php?lng=e...id=1&cat=1

Note: Before running Costa, be sure to read INFO!!!.TXT and run USERS.EXE (read the document first).

I'm open to suggestions and comments Smile

I'm guessing DosBox will run it too slowly, so I'll have to reboot to Windows to look at it... any screenshots?

Very nifty. :) It'll be nice to see the full version with some more tools, but at the moment it looks and feels nice. Would it be possible to have a 'Cancel' button on those dialog boxes that pop up when you click on an icon?

If DOSBox is too slow for you, you can use these keys to adjust the speed:
Quote:CTRL-F7
Decreases frameskip.
CTRL-F8
Increases frameskip.
CTRL-F11
Decrease DOSBox cycles (slows down the emulation).
CTRL-F12
Increase DOSBox cycles (speeds up the emulation).

shiftLynx: Sure, I'll add it to my to-do list Smile Haven't thought of that, thanks  Also, thanks for the kind words

Cool. Themability is a nice feature, very rare in QB GUIs.

Thanks, I thought it could be cool with some themes. I like a little change now and then Smile

Very nice GUI! The themes are great! Big Grin The only things I miss are moveable windows. Or am I just too stupid to move them?

Well, Costa doesn't have moveable windows, and I don't plan to implement it. Instead I aim for speed and stability.

I am, however, making another GUI (not sure about the name yet) with multitasking and moveable windows. So people who want multitasking can multitask, and people who don't need it won't have to waste resources Smile

hi
Does this GDI have support for compiling and linking multiple modules?
It would be nice to use such a prog instead of having to use
batch files to compile my five or six modules...
... No offense, but if you don't know how, i guess i could show you
(btw, the reason i havnt simply just downloaded it and tested it for myself is cos im at school atm)
