Printer won't print
#1
I have an HP 722 Deskjet connected to my LPT1 Port. It will print fine from other Windows applications when I select it as my default printer in my Windows Settings. However, it will not print anything in QuickBasic....either a copy of the program lines by using File, Print or output coded by the program itself using Lprint.

In your printer driver there's a setting to say to print directly to the printer instead of spooling the printing job. Perhaps if you turned that option on, it might work this way.
hen they say it can't be done, THAT's when they call me ;-).

I located the printer driver file [I think] but I can't open it in Wordpad in order to edit it. Am I missing something?

Hmm.. I have a 722, my only prob is I have to run the program, close it, then minamize QB.... whether its taking this long to procces, or I have to bring it to Windows for the toolbox to kick in a run the printer, I dunno...

My old 610 did it fine, must be issues with the model, it does have settings for DOS printing... but its only for page type and time out settings... see if Mystik's tip helps...

Start >Settings >Printers

Then right-click the printer you use and select properties from the list...

Edit: Yep, the fact that mine prints (even after waiting for ages), I have spool settings on.. Mystik has the right idea...

Yes and I double checked to see that the settings I changed did, in fact, stick. I also looked at the Port Tab and see that my 722 is assigned to LPT1.

I found this statement in an HP Forum.......

"In looking for a link to HP's site for their statement that network printing isn't supported I also found that the 722 doesn't support NT4 or DOS printing."
