thanks guys... yea, i was wanting the player to have control of each of the engines, but, now im thinking im going to go away from the racing game style and make it more of a shooter, kinda like panzer dragoon, only fast paced small environment wipeout style... due to this, the player will be devoting most of their attention to the enemies and attacking, so ship control will prolly have to be as simple as possible, limited to strafe left/right, and raise/lower thrust... they might have to turn... i havent really decided on that one yet

what do you guys think? did any of you play panzer dragoon? if so, do you have any comments on what you liked/disliked about that game or style of game? thanks

I like the idea of two engines, but try and make it simpler..

Like, have it auto tilt when you only press one engine..

maybe something like:
Left engine: Q, A, Z
Right engine: U, J, M

Where Q and U are 100% thrust, Z and M are 25%.. it's a simpler concept, easier to grasp..

And whatever you do, make the keys customizable Tongue

i may suggest something a little less common, but possibly useful: "set axel"

if the engine "powering" is slow enough, perhaps having something like this:

Quote:w :: Increase main engine
s :: Decrease main engine
q :: Increas left engine
a :: Decrease left engine
e :: Increase right engine
d :: Decrease right engine
z :: maintain current left engine power
:: if key is held (for 2 seconds or something like that); bring other engines to same power level
x :: maintiain current main engine power
:: if key is held (for 2 seconds or something like that); bring other engines to same power level
c :: maintain current right engine power
:: if key is held (for 2 seconds or something like that); bring other engines to same power level

still alot of keys.....but i suppose the main engine isn't required...
