Java compiler!!!1

Yes, we like to write interesting apps. Yes we like to make computers (and other machines) do things that weren't thought of when they were first designed. But this isn't a hobby (is this a hobby?) where we like to be told what to do. We do beacuse [um...] we want, which in truth is what all hobbies are about. If you really want that QB Java compiler then you should learn about compiler design and about QuickBASIC then go out and code it.

In theory I agree with a FREEBASIC > Java compiler... a Quickbasic one would be pretty much impossible, but FREEBASIC is doable mostly.

I really didn't think my post a few days ago would cause so much ire.

I appologize for my comments on English. They were just mean spirited.

I do not appologize for anything else in my post.
What I said is true. Hacking is not a place where people say "How can I make this" rather then "You should do this". The single expection to that is when suggestions are requested by a person. This is long standing protocal in Hackerdom.
A few years ago I wrote a paper on this, realting it back to the idealized view of the Cowboy. The same ideas, Self-Reliance but able to work in teams, being skilled at one profession while at a total loss at others, being on the frontier of society, being able to do what only a small select group has done before (if indeed anyone has done it at all).

Do you want a free java compiler? Get eclipse from eclipse.org, and the latest versions of JRE(free) and JDK(also free)...
