"Nintendo"-ish sound
#1
Alright, alright... YES I will sign autographs, and YES I am out of hiding for a little while... and YES this probably belongs in ART/MUSIC, but I figure this way I'll reach the broader audience Smile

Here's my question... I really really like the nintendo-ish music... like all beeps and boops and stuff, but I don't know how to produce my own. I have MIDI stuff, but Sawtooth and Square just can't compare to the sheer joy of hearing that opening music in SMB1 (doo doo doo doo doo doo! doo.) You know what I'm talking about. So I was wondering if anyone knew of a program that could replicate these sounds and make an effective editor for to compose such songs as well? That would truly be cool. Thanks! And I might try to hang out around here more often... we'll see how life goes

One night I had a dream where I was breaking balls. The next morning, BALLSBREAKER was born.

A Severe Error has crippled BB2 for the time being... I have to figure it out, but until then you won't see much of it Sad.

i'd say go hang around a nintendo emulator community and ask the pros there.

You need more than a simple MIDI program, you need some sound editor that will let you mess with attack, decay, etc. google it...

"Nintendo-ish music" is more commonly described as "chiptunes" Wink

You can compose chiptunes in just about any tracker. NerdTracker II is the only tracker I know of specifically for NES (2A03) tunes though.
