Actually, I was thinking of naming it after a star or a constellation. I thought of Orion (I think somebody else is using that name, but I'm not sure), Arcturus (sounds weird), Vega (sounds like a 1970's game console), and Altair (already being used).

Osiris was the Ancient Egyptian god of the dead. I originally named the project "Osiris" because I was titling my TRUE OS "Horus", and I eventually plan to integrate the two, so I thought that the name would fit with that.

Just another name off the top of my head: Lyra.

thegrogen: looks like the round robin method of multitasking...that's the method I used for the original version of SockOS.

It doesn't sound like a Shell or OS... well, continue on with the name, it's not like GNOME sounds any better... Gain enough popularity with and you can call it whatever the hell you want and it won't really matter at all....
