[RPG Project] Double Dagger

I take my hat off to nathan (for the obviously great coding, not the strange content-- although they *were* well drawn pictures in great Manga style-- I must respect that art)... the man who made Jill work on a 486... you were the guy who programmed that, weren't you... what, exactly, were you thinking at the time :???: lol

But anyways, I have made this code as tight as my (admittedly rather ameteurish) programming skills will permit. Perhaps the problem is the slowness of the "PRINT" command. I know that you can do it faster using PEEK and POKE-- could someone please explain this to me? Or point me to a document that can?

PS. It's not even scrolley. It's in traditional roguelike style.
PPS. Everything should work on a 486/DX/33. Everything would if Microsoft wasn't pressing us onwards, to accept their technology which they are letting out to us in controlled dribs and drabs... like it or not, Mr. William Henry Gates III controls the world.

Hey, I can help you with some tips on how making your code faster. Usually, it is not PRINT that screws your game speed, it is the algorithms behind.

But if you want a cool text mode toolkit I can give you mine. Last XMas I coded this little gamey in textmode:

Note that my post was not to flame you or sumthing. I will help you improving your game speed if you like.

About what am I thinking all the time? ... Easy: GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS
