The Cars...
#1
Does anyone around here know of the music? I used to listen to their stuff when I was a kid because my dad was into it, and I just still love the music. They were oddballs... kinda like QBasic programmers, I guess. It kinda reminds me of that Revenge Of The nerds movie... and I'm a metalhead, not a nerd... or are they the same thing, pretty much? Anyway, if I ever formed a band that was as natural, I'd shit on the president's desk... and he would laugh about it!

Yaaa_Hmmm...
Maybe I'm just making up for Axipherella's absence!?! :rotfl:

...But they were bad, GOD DAMN IT!!! :wtnod:

Sure, they sound really 80s  I kinda like a few of their songs when I'm in my "80's mood". But my "80's mood" tends to go more gothic - The Cure in the pop side and Type 0 Negative in the metal one.

Wel, for metal, I like Megadeth for the true sound of metal in the 80's. Mechanix has a riff or two to be reckoned with, on a sick day, or a drunkard night!

Anyway, remind me of The Cure, if you please. For the life of me, I can't remember a one song by them, but I know they were good... I just can't lyric my mind's tongue to it just now. Tongue

btw: Shake it Up! :rotfl:

The Cure were (are? well - kinda) awesome. I can list you my fave songs, being "Killing an arab" (read the lyrics before making assumptions, this one is about a book named the same and doesn't promote violence at all, nor racism nor xenophobia), "jumping in someone's else train", "a forest", "boys don't cry", "close to me", "in between days", "a night like this", "the caterpillar" and a whole lotta more which I can't remember right now.

I am not much into metal, that's why I don't like Metallica or Megadeth qiute much (but I still consider they are among the best bands of all time - one can dislike something but still recognize when that something is *really* good). I like Type 0 Negative for the gothic side of them. If you never listened to them, think about H.I.M. but in a "macho", seminal, darker fashion Tongue
