best mousing surface
#1
i'm doing this thing on my forum, i've bought 3 high end mousepads, and i'm gonna compare em..then tryto make my own fancy dandy mousepad...and see if i can make a mousepad that beats the competition!!! like i said, i already bought 3 pads and there on the way... when i get paid again (friday after next) i'll be buying the materials for my custom pads...

the looser pads will get sold on ebay, and the for the winner pad, i'll post detailed instructions on how i made it with photos and stuff, that way peops dont have to spend 30.00 on a good gaming pad

anyhoo...whats your oppinions about mousing surfaces (for optical mice)? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Smile

You started to lose me when you said you bought three high-end mousepads ans said you'd have a little competition to see which is the best out of them and a custom one... =p ... and then you lost me when you said:

The best mousemat you can buy for an optical mouse is a sheet of teflon coated material, such as this

I use an Alienware fUncpad with Razer Diamondback. They work very nicely together; I've tried a Steelpad 4D, but the Diamondback didn't like it (tested it with a Logitech optical and it worked though).

Any flat surface? Try a flat shiny surface (e.g. Glass, CD Case, etc.,).. those with high glare and refection tend to mess up the photo eye.. Thus, not all flat surfaces work.. Tongue

yeah, ratt has a point. The plastic desk (not even highly reflective) I am using right now while waiting to get a wooden one has absolutely no responce. The first time i used it (I didn't have my mouse pad out) I though my mouse was broken and was frantically troubleshooting until it occured to me to try it on a mousepad. Tongue
