Is this PWM unit viable? For a load I've got two voltage sources and a resistor and they seem fairly content to sit there and buzz away, but my copy of ewb is very old and doesn't like the idea of simulating this circuit for very long, so I can't tell if it'll run, and even if it does, there's no guarantee that it will when I assemble it, so any thoughts?

I would agree, just build it. 741's are dirt cheap, it doesn't matter if you blow it in testing. I'm not sure what some of those symbols are, thery're not the way i was taught, but if your just going for an general oscillator, the 555 chip can be pretty useful.
EVEN MEN OF STEEL RUST.
