Space v Time

That is decompressed, zipped up it should be much smaller. At the time they are just raw data, I do have the programs set up to deal with multiple images in one file, up to 160 at a time.
f you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. The scary part is that if you play it forwards it installs Windows.

Make it big. I love watching how fast it downloads...

And I offer to mail a burned to CD copy of the finished game to yetifoot for free. 8)

You're going to wait until 56kb connections are FREE aren't you?

My 56Kb connection is free, but its far from 56Kb. Ever since broadband came out, its more like 28.8Kb, i guess thats a tactic to force me to upgrade.

Once in about every 3 months i wish i had broadband, and then i realise i don't need it, so for me its a waste of money.

Obviously, you don't need internet at all, but it's a nice luxury that eliminates the pain in the ass of having to live with dial-up.

On topic: from experience, I can tell you that the fast/big solution will compress quite well, so go for that one.

Why not just have a compressed version and decompress it upon installation?...

IF I deem the game worthwhile to post out, I can have a copy sent anywhere in Australia free of charge. Don't expect the cover or cd label to be anything fancy, maybe a marker writing is all you'll get.

Quote:10MB? Dream on, not one of my games.

I'm talking like 70MB v 30MB. I think the folder I have right now is about 20MB, and thats really compressed and doesn't have nearly everything in it yet. There are thousands of 24 bit bitmaps in here.
First of all - use the fast method, nobody wants to download a 70MB hobbyist game. Second - thousands of 24-bit bitmaps? WTF are you thinking? Use PNG or at least 16-bit bitmaps, and don't tell me you need millions of colours.
f only life let you press CTRL-Z.
