I have a few suggestions...
You could make it scroll smoothly... pixel_pixel instead of tile_tile.
You could add a character animtion, instead of the arrow.
You could Make a fog of war type exclusion, instead of blacking out the undiscovered tiles.
Actually, all those things I mentioned are fun to do, and really good practice. It seems like your an apt programmer, so I doubt you will need much help, but if you have any questions, just ask around and I'm sure that someone will jump right in to help.

Your program, while pretty nifty, has the ability to lock my explorer window to a set size. When I exit the game, the folder window is square style (not rounded like most XP windows) and unresizeable?
Wierd side effect :o
