Downloadable documentation?

Quote:The Windows version on Windows XP (and probably any OS with a scrollable console - Windows 2000, etc.) has a slight problem - it apparently thinks the screen is as tall as the total scrollable buffer, not just the visible screen, so the bottom of the screen is way down at 300 lines.

Yeah, this is a problem with the NT based consoles since the default buffers are 300. What I did was right click the title bar, select Properties from the menu and the Layout tab. You can change the default settings there. I changed it to 80 by 40. You also need to uncheck the Quick Edit checkboxes under the Options tab so the mouse will work. Since you can save the settings for future sessions, you only have to do this once.

One suggestion for the windows version: Putting a little Close button up in the top right corner--Turbo Vision style--would be nice. Good job on this.

@tbbw, thanks.

@Drv, The dos version behaves correctly in a scrollable window. The windows version does not. It should probably work the same as the dos version. (i.e. like running qb or edit in a window). Currently the word wrap is fixed at 76 columns, which is done by the help file generator. (not the viewer)

I don't think I have ever changed the screen buffersize from 80x25 until just now. I always used mode con lines=50. I also see that the windows version does not work at all with a screenbuffer wider than 80 columns. I'm bypassing some of the fb run-time stuff. Maybe I shouldn't do that, or try to remember why I did that, and possibly report bugs on the fbrt.

You'll still need the "fbhelp.dat" file from the exe download for this to work.

EDIT: Old source link deleted.
