Try a sword as big as the buster sword and a handle small enough to hold. Easy to all keep together now?
I heard the main problem with swords that large has been the handle. I've only made smaller katanas (Not wakasashi's either. I mean too thin of blades >D), so I wouldn't know from experience.
A sword as big as the buster sword would be kinda complex if you ask me. You might want to use slightly different cooling and metal preparing techniques to take full advantage of it's size.

LOL it is amazing what you can do with steel these days!
but with in physical limits of course!
the buster sword would not be practical!
even if it were 40-50 Lbs. your wrist(s) take the brunt
of the handling, it is just not good for you!
the simple problem of the handle to the blade is,
even stress flow lines! tapper the blade to handle
the bigger the tapper the stronger!
welded ready rod to the blade like modern day show swords
breack easy because of that!(there is no tapper)
t is better to error on the side of caution
than the side of haste!!!

You'd have to drill a hole the same size as the handle, make the handle about three times as long, tap the hole, thread the handle, screw it in and then weld it.
