Happy Birthday! :wtnod2:
Quote:wow to think in a few years I'll be able to tell you all if turning 42 is twice the fun as turning 21.
Would that make turning 63 three times as fun?

I started QB when I was about 7 (1995) when my brother's friend (3 years older than me) showed me that you could go into DOS and type "Qbasic" and it went into this wonderful IDE. Of course, that was back in the day when I had windows 3.11 (the good ol' days, I like to call 'em...) Anyways, I joined these forums when I was 16ish. Been hooked ever since. And, to top it all off, my skills haven't improved significantly in a loooong time. Although I am learning the wonderful intricies of FB more and more so I can impress my computer illiterate friends more
.
BTW. Happy B-Day Pete

Pretty interesting.
I remember that I was in junior high school,
waaaay back in the mid '80s, and we had Apple computers in math class. I had alot of family problems back then, which pretty much messed up my chances of actually learning anything in math class. However, I never forgot what it was like to be able to make the computer do things by typing in command words.
Sometime around '96, I moved to New Jersey with my brother-in-law. He bought a top of the line computer, and it had Win '95 on it. I messed around with it all the time, mostly playing games. After a while I started getting bored with the games, so I started looking around on the CD. I just happened to run across the oldmsdos folder, which contains QBasic. From there, it was all downhill!
hell yeah that olddos folder's what brought me back too... crazy.
and now ironically we have all strayed from ms's path and discovered fb; never to be stuck crappy ms BASIC's again!!!1

Yeah, I started Pete's QB Site way back in 1998 when I was 13...and was active in the Qmunity for at least a year before that. It's been a looooooong time.

When I'm an old guy who sits back in his chair all day regretting never getting married and knowing I'm the last of my blood, I think I'm going to remember these days.
Maybe sit back on the internet and brag about how I too, have been doing this for many many years . . .
