very nice!
My cursor kept "sticking" though. I could move around all the time fine, but the cone cursor thing would just freeze in place every 5 seconds or so and not follow. Did that happen to anyone else?

It's because it sticks to faces, not points, so it'll in a sense freeze to a spot.

BTW, the shadows didn't work for me. I got this on exit:

the program was bug free for me. i would of liked to pick up objects and fire tem across the room.

Yeah, it's doing what Torahteen said. It aligns the cursor with the normal of the intersected triangle. I was using a quad to decal a picture of the cursor, but 3D object was more fun. It gives you more of a sense of which direction the object will go when you click on it.
