To Dr_Davenstein:

Hey, you are quite welcome, my man. ANYTIME. Big Grin=b !

You know, I added the new demos up there to widely present the users like you and this whole QB45/QB71/FB community to experience the more newer FB graphics demos that I did not get a chance to add from this past summer (due in part to the compo version of my game Dragon Dancer that I had to work on). Boy, I am so GLAD I caught up; it gives me a whole lot of breathing room to do other things, like work on the newest version of AFlib2, for instance!! Wink

Be checking you later, Dr_Davenstein, and thank you so much for your well-spent time!!! Confusedtar:

When can one expect a new version of AFlib2? rel was saying that there was an error in the Scale2X routine. I wonder if the fix effects on the look of a game using it.

Also, any plans on adding a page for AFlib2 programms (hint-hint) ?

I should try some of these demos. I'll be honest, I was ignoring most of them. I only saw few done by rel.

To Lachie:

Thanks for telling me about that! Wow! Wink

From what I can remember, man, the first version of AFlib2 was only for FB versions 0.14b and 0.15b. At the time that it was first released, apparently, version 0.16b came out with its own changes going that did not support the first version of AFlib2, and so I had started making some changes to make it work in FB v0.16b and up. I have not gotten a chance to finish it yet (because of all the work I had to do on updating the demos), but I will get started again!! Big Grin !

While I am developing a newer version of AFlib2, the Scale2x routine is currently working on FB v0.17b (testing version) as I was making the changes not too long ago. Let me show you what I am talking about:

This above screenshot you are seeing in this post is the result from when this routine test was just compiled using FB v0.17b (testing version), so all is well. And, you will see it in full action when that new AFlib2 version is released indeed. Plus, a lot of new and wildly exciting stuff (like a tiled sinewave effect and vertically slanted 8x8 text!!) is gonna be thrown in here, too!!! You will be amazed, believe me!! :^_^:

Also, I can arrange a showcase of selected games that was created using AFlib2, and when I do create this page, your game Star Cage *will* be the first one up. I will see what I can do to deliver this through! Cool=b !

Well, be seeing you again, and once again, thank you so much!!! Confusedtar:

Star Cage was compiled in FB ver.016b. And yes, I had to make some changes in the AfLib2.bi file to be able to do that. Actually, it's a custom AFLib2 file I created that only features some of the lib routines. Like I said in the one of my posts, I don't want to have a 4 MB large executable. I think the lib is somewhat too bulky. Perhaps you should allow the user to pick needed routines for his or her project and then wrap it up in a fb lib, or whatever it's called(.a extension).
