Over 450 QBasic games and demos (47 entries) to download! All the old features are there: scores, descriptions, categorization, the search engine and the category filter. Read the news!
http://games.qbasic.com or
http://www.qbasic.com/games
The site is far from perfect. Beside the graphical redesign, it could use a downloads counter and ability for users to post comments on every game, but that's currently undoable. Still, I think that the site in current state is a quite valuable source for QBasic games.
A forum should open soon. Well, maybe this is
http://www.qbasic.com/wbb/board.php?boardid=21&sid=, but Mark didn't put a link to it from the site.
Lemme know what you thing (again).

Nice work! Did you ever get the email I sent you ~2 months ago about my
patch for DQBsetFrameRate? Also you may be interested in
EMS Magic; it fixes a lot of EMS/XMS problems with QB programs.

Uh, sorry Plasma. I forgot to reply your post the last time I was online. That day I had one of the worst days ever so I'm sure you won't hold it against me.
Anyway, I didn't get your original email, that's for sure. Perhaps my Yahoo! filter hates your email provider and sends your emails directly to my Bulk folder. If your email in not public in your forum profile, be sure to PM it to me so I can modify my Yahoo! filter accordingly.
I'll download the files you mentioned and add them to the website's "Extra downloads" section. It might take a while. Sorry. I'll also use try to use the DQB patch to test some of the QB games I couldn't test before. Thanks.
Hard Rock, thanx for the report. It was mostly a problem of incorrectly inputed file name in the database. And few files I missed to upload. For Kingdoms I will have to ask Mark to correct the entry in the database himself. I can't rename the file to "Kindgoms.zip".
Also, the site should be update with improved descriptions and 3 new games in a day or so.

Nice site, great to see all those games still have a home. But I hate your reviews. Your Red Baron review basically says it all -- you either didn't play these games when they were still new or are revamping your opinion of them in light of modern advances.
Edit: And some of your information is incorrect. Secret Of Cooey is not Darkdread's first RPG -- The Dark Crown, Legend of Lith 1 & 2, and I believe even Mysterious Song and Distant Promises came first.
Double Edit: Distant Promises is missing! I wonder if it's still around anywhere. I always thought it was Darkdread's best, even if it never made it past semi-large demo.
Triple Edit:

eep your eyes open and a monkey you'll see -- oh, everybody wants my cocoa crispies.

Hey Hard Rock! Does your server provide information about the number of downloads for each file? If this information can be obtained easily, I would like to get the information about the top 10 downloads from the site on weekly basis. If that is not too much trouble.
Lemme know if this is possible.
DrD, I apologize, but you are free to point me to your games. Like I said in one of the about section's:
Quote:I'm always looking for a tip about QBasic games that should be included in the database. Everything will be checked. Just have in mind that I don't have all the time in the world. It is very possible that some very good games were missed. I was not present in the community from its starts and not in all its corners.
Magna, the error about Secret of Cooey will be corrected in the next update. What Darkdread meant in the doc of Secret of Cooey is that the game in question is his first QuickBasic 4.5 game.
I can't play Distant Promises 2 on my PC. It's said in the "Pending Games" section. I'll try to find the first part.
As for Red Baron, the game really limps in the gameplay department. I can only assume that it was appearicated when it was released by programmers, and not gamers. I'm scoring games as a gamer.
