Quote:wizard: Too bad you're not using C or qb, UGL sound module will run on any sb hardware. It's better then any of the other sound libs you mentioned. really it is Smile

Is UGL open source like rel's lib?

In retrospect, I wish I'd taken the time to learn C for this project... there's so much more support for it. Pascal is obscelete.

Pascal is as obsolete as QB, I'd say even less. Anyhow, if you know Pascal in the heavy way (pointers and lo-level stuff) you'll get to C in a while. It is just a different syntax.

Different syntax = completely unrelated, different language.
To me languages are distinguished mainly by their syntax.

Then again, Pascal and C are sort of similar in my mind, from the little bit expirience that I had with them. Maybe that's because I used very similar IDEs to make my C and Pascal progs. That kind of thing sticks in my mind (when I was new to progging, I considered the QB IDE, simply "The QB lang." I said stuff like "Open the QB language.").

Freebasic is like QB, except it doesn't suck.

No. Although C (& dirivatives) are distinguished by their 'ultra simple' syntax... no wasted keywords.

Both by borland... really is the same IDE. QB's is very similar, just has a slightly better editor, more 'helper' stuff like auto spacing and whatnot, and it's SDI.
