I'm Just Learning Music (MID files in a .rar)

There ya go. Songs include:

- Mad Train
- Happy
- Airship
- Distortion
- Neverending Trail of Souls

and two test songs from a long time ago. They're at most, 40 second long mid files. I can't be sure they'll sound the same on your machine because of the mid part.

Posting because ya know, I'm just learning and I can finally compose some music I hear in my head. Distortion and Neverending Trail of Souls are straight from these dreams I had. Not exactly happy dreams . . . Mad Train is my first attempt at a harder type of m usic.

Any tips on how to expand what I already know (I realize my music is stuff a 5 year old can write), please lemme know. C & C welcome.

Not bad, though both 'Distortion' and the second part of 'Mad Train' seem to be a little... inspired by one of the riffs Ozzy's 'Crazy Train' Wink
Most of the songs are really simple and don't really seem to go anywhere. I kept expecting more instruments to come in, or at least another piano, instead of just a single piano lead throughout-- It's a little hard to hear how the tunes are supposed to go without any consistent rhythm part to them.

I think 'test' was the best of them, though again, it could use more to it. Good start, anyway.

I wouldn't know. Perhaps I'm just rewriting what I've heard? *tried to say that without insulting Ozzy :P*

Ah, I'll try to work on that. I'm sick of MID though, but am having trouble looking into .ogg. It'll take me a while to learn the software and compose some music for the format, which would allow me more freedom.

I'll try to look up some stuff on melody and such and try to get in some more instruments, which I would definitely love to do as well. I just wanna do this without having the parts repeat themselves as they do right now. I hear some very great music in my head, but the single-instrument lack of variety songs are all I can transpose onto digital instruments right now.

*Goes off and away, to expand his knowledge of music and melody to that of an 8 year old, rather than a 5 year old*

can and will export files to MIDs as well as WAVs, MP3s, and a few other formats. is this something of what you were looking for?

and i do see the resemblence to crazy train on two of those too, it's only a lil obvious Tongue other than that, a solid beginning.
the mind is a beautiful thing, use it and make the world a more beautiful place.

Yes that software seems to be exactly what I'd like to play around with. Downloading it on the hard drive I broke at this very moment.

EDIT: Downloaded, but it looks like the free version isn't all that great (ex: half of the features + are cut out). ^_^;; Argh, if only I had money. FL Studio is a good tool as well, but I can't get to learn that one either.

I'll have to download that song too. Ozzy rules ;_;

EDIT2: Alright, I know the song Tongue Just not it's name heheh. I don't hear it, honestly. Gotta *train* my ears a bit, kupo.
