Large problem fixed with The Geekery
#1
I've just discovered that casing matters in filenames on The Geekery's server. So if you've encountered any HTTP 404 erros while trying to access a file on The Geekery, please try again - I've fixed the problem completely, I hope.

BTW are case-sensitive filenames unique to UNIX? Because I know that it doesn't matter with MS-DOS filenames.

As far as I know, Windows-based servers aren't case sensitive, whereas unix (as you have found), are. Something else to watch out for is spaces in file names - many browsers can't access these files. IE can, so it crops up quite often. Opera and others can't Wink
In a world without walls and doors, who needs Windows and Gates?

I once had a nasty encounter with spaces in filenames - it took an age to load. Then I changed it all to all-one-word filenames, and bingo, fast as Tripod ever lets anything go.

Anyway, I must admit that Microsoft has brainwashed me into thinking that "case-insensitive filenames is a good thing." Wait - they are a good thing, so what was my point. :???:
Well, I'll remember that casing matters - thanks Pip. And also thanks for accepting me to QB Worlds.

In geocities, case sensitivity for both file names and directories counts...
