Networking question
#1
I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to networking - the only thing I've done is set up a simple wireless network for a laptop that already had everything set up.
I just scrounged a P3 500MHz, and I've put it in my room. I want the main family computer, about 40 feet away, to share the DSL internet connection it has. I have a router, and the router is set up. But what about the new one? It has Windows 98, and the main comp. has XP. How would I go about setting up the 98 machine to receive internet access from the router? Do I need to make some sort of network connection setup or install a driver?

Connect to the network with the network connection wizard. The internet should follow automatically, assuming you have the driver for the network card.
In the beginning, there is darkness – the emptiness of a matrix waiting for the light. Then a single photon flares into existence. Then another. Soon, thousands more. Optronic pathways connect, subroutines emerge from the chaos, and a holographic consciousness is born." -The Doctor

Cheers. I'll give that a shot when I get the wiring set up.
