VBDOS Professional Edition can compile and optimize for the 386, as well as do ISAM databases. Other than that, I'm not quite sure...other than the better-looking and far more stable IDE.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

Know any tutorials? I googled a little but they seemed to be
for programming in general beginners...
What are isam databases?

I was hoping win 3.1 came with qbasic, but apparently it does not. What I do have (which is where these came from) is a broad range of MSDN CD's from 94, 95, and 96, which includes several variations of NT 3.1 and 3.5 in a few different languages. Assuming I can locate all of the CDs, I may very well have a few more qbasic languages to add. We shall see Smile

Would be cool to get the Hebrew version of Win 3.1...but just a question, would it run...under XP?
Anyway, I wish we could get the source code to 1.1... :-?
f only life let you press CTRL-Z.

Freebasic is like QB, except it doesn't suck.

At least, not without an emulator. It works under Bochs.

Here are two other items from the MSDN 94 set, regarding TCP in DOS. Again, I am unsure about the legality, etc, etc, so if asked to, I will remove the files. Aside from that, I don't really know what they are for, but perhaps someone with an understanding of C could make them usable to us QB'ers. My guess is that the code and programs are for use either with lan manager or MS Client 3.0

If you know VB (better to know VB3) VBDOS works the same. ISAM databases are databases using ISAM files, which are an old yet trustable format.

Btw, sorry for double posting Smile
