Today i heard of "another" shooting in Hartford (city in my state). apparently, there was a routine traffic stop in which the cop was shot at by the 17 year old. and the cop died. not because he couldn't draw his pistol in time, no, he was backed up against his vehicle and was calling for back-up. later when he was ORDERED, not to fire at the suspect. this is not right!

if your getting shot at by the guy, you shoot him back. most people think that cops are lazy, donught eating slobs with nothing better to do than sit in a squad car all day. that is everything but the truth, cops can't do anything because they are TOLD to do nothing.

I say, if a cop finds someone running from them, and he says "stop!", than that kid better stop, otherwise, the cop should shoot him. that is why america is screwed up people. fix our legal system, and get bush seniors thumb out of our presidents ass and america wouldn't be a halfway decent place to live.

Cops are allowed to shoot at a suspect if their life is threatened or somebody else's life is threatened. Either something is missing from the story, or the cop was a moron.

Yeah, but if the cop was ordered not to fire back, something was wrong then...

i'm not sayin it's the president's fault that people are stupid. that whole bit about the president was a whole other story. but no, there was nothing missing from my story, he was told not to fire.

I dunno about the states, but I know that here (Canada) if a cop steps one foot outside their little white circle they get mountains of shyte slung at them by everyone from the mayor to national polititions.

And that doesn't even mean drawing a weapon. They get in all sorts of trouble just trying to hand out speeding tickets to minorities. It's disgusting the degree to which this country doesn't stand behind its law enforcement. Not only are the officers disgraced and dismissed, they're often landed with huge lawsuits and what have you as well.

A few days later, I was watching the news and saw the cop who gave me the ticket on TV. He had just gotten suspended for two weeks with pay for doing something apparently horrible. He shot at someone without intent to kill. I'd have felt sorry for the guy if not for the incident a few days before.

But for a country thats banned guns I still hear gun shots every 2-3 months. The area I live in is a but nasty tho... The largest horde (found in Britan at the time) of E was found about 1min walk from where I live.

Whatever you do, don't spit in a cops face. This man did and got sentenced to jail for life. No fooling...

That's also another thing. They can sometimes make things get way too overly technical, so when it's obvious to the people that a consequence is waaaaaay over harsh. They can't tone it down to how it should be because they are rock hardened to the law.
