Silent-Death

I hate my computer so much... I paid over $1300 (and doing odd jobs to get that amount, it's ALOT of money), and it fails and doesn't start about every month I had it. I only got itaround 6 or so months and it failed so much, I think my old family's computer is 20X better (it would freeze alot, but never fail). The computer is a HP, and at first I was so happy that I finally got a computer of my own (a very nice one in fact, had alot a parts for gaming). First week goes nicely... Second week pretty good had to restart it once because it frozed, start to hear wierd noises... Third week i think I got wirerless internet installed into it... Fith week, noise intensives... So on and so forth until it would start up randomly unless I keep restarting it about 3 times. Then it failed... had to reformate... later every thing ok... then it failed and so on. Eventally the comp just died all togather and had to get it fixed by HP. When i got it back had to reformate it because they didn't do it.

Well enough of me talking about the crappy computer, it's now onto my questions.

1) Is it possible, someway to make them make me a new one, or take a look at it and makesure everything is working?

2) What color flame would the processer burn if I poured gasoline on it and strike a match on it?

3) How flat will it be if I run it over with a steam roller?

4) Is it a good target for a shotgun?

...and so on...

Serouisly... if you have a idea what I should do about it tell me please because i'm really not happy that I paid so much and didn't get my moneys worth...
sounds like you having one of those nights to..

Silent-Death

Yup... i'm just so sick of it. Everytime I start my comp i'm afriad I would have to reformat it.

BTW Do you play Call of Duty (thought I saw a website in your profile leading to a Call of Duty Web site)
yeah. my clan is called Red Bull Division. www.rbdclan.com
Quote:1) Is it possible, someway to make them make me a new one, or take a look at it and makesure everything is working?
Doubtful. It's probably not even under warranty anymore, so you'll have to pay for repairs. Why did you buy a crappy HP anyways?!

Quote:2) What color flame would the processer burn if I poured gasoline on it and strike a match on it?
Probably blue-green.

Quote:3) How flat will it be if I run it over with a steam roller?
Depends on the weight of the roller. I'd say 55mm is a good estimate.

Quote:4) Is it a good target for a shotgun?
Not unless you use slugs. Buckshot wouldn't easily penetrate the case, unless it was plastic. Personally, I'd use either some kind of rifle, or make a step up to a semi-automatic handgun. However, nothing beats a good old MAC-10.

Well dude, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but...this is what you get for buying cheap. Big Grin HP can't make a desktop PC to save their ass and never could. Next time you buy a computer, do some market research first. Big Grin
I not sure about us, but in england you could easily get you money back here, they would have to. Nevertheless I am sure if you do it within us law then making a right nuiscance of yourself may make them refund your dosh, ever heard the quote "the squeaky wheel gets the grease". Finally with that kind dosh you could get a quite decent comp for that and one that worked!
you cant get your money back at this point in time but it is still supposed to be under warrenty. I think HP gives a year. I like HP's accessories: cameras, printers, scanners, cd burners. HP sucks at computers.

Silent-Death

It is under warenty still... and nek, i did do research on it, but sience my family comp was HP i decided to get that (the money I wanted to spend on a comp was $800, not enough for alienware, but ended up buying this piece of sh*t for over $1300 Sad .) I wish it would fail to a point were they would either make me a new one or I get almost every cent back that I paided for the piece of crap.
I dont think there is much you can do except be a thorn in their ass and call them up everyday until your problem gets solved. :-?
silent death: could you describe the sound? please post a detailed configuration of your computer. Also try and remember what objects are placed around the computer. Can anyone of them be potentially harmful?

Try to think what you could have had changed in the second week that may have caused this kind of behavior.

IMO only the PSU can cause a sound. That too the transformer or something stuck in the fans, Failing HDDs, CD-Drives/DVD-drive etc...

Personally i have had 36 days and 12hrs of computer trouble. I got through it by being calm and collected. I was on the verge of snapping many times but I avoided it. So dont snap just yet.
