Are there any particularly big disadvantages to using OpenGL instead of DirectX? I've heard that DirectX is faster, and it's definitely out-using OpenGL as far as commercial games go, but I'm mainly concerned with compatibility issues.
If you use OGL a linux port is possible too.

Let's see, Doom3 was made using GL. AS for speed, no differrence.
