FSM: Finite State Machine. A fancy phrase for a program that exists in states, each of which carries out certain tasks and has triggers with attributes that either can or cannot, depending on their attributes and/or the current environmental variables, change the FSM to other states. All fighting games that work properly use FSM techniques. Master the art of finite state machines and your game coding will increase in power many times over.
