Scariest Story Ever!
#21
Yeah, Grimms and Andersen _original_ stories are way scary. Really scary. It is only that most of us just read or watched the paced-down Disney versions.

What scared me?

Watching the shining when I was 7.

"Here's Jonny!"

Nicolson scared the crap out of me.

And of course the exocrist

I agree with aardvark... we (me and my brothers) watched "Psycho" recently (the b&w version) and didn't find it scary at all... in fact we thought it was ruined at the end with the guy just giving the audience the explanation... well Mum and Dad were most annoyed, they found Psycho terrifying when they watched it... they got into talking about "violence on TV numbing our minds" which I suppose is true.

Bill Gates runs for president.

Pssh, that's not scary, it's predictable. Also, we can just throw a pie at him again.

Actually, barok, in the original (and best) "Dracula", Count Dracula is not depicted as a monster but merely as a sad old man struggling with the evil within him.

And "the Shining"? Five hours of... well, at first, with the suspense, it was okay. And then the hedges started moving. Hurrah, moving hedges.

Suspense. Down the toilet.

And, well, I would have to say that the biggest scare I ever got was reading "Sphere" when I was seven. Books are, in general, scarier than movies. They force you to use your imagination more-- you imagine what scares you, not what scared Steven Spielburg or some other guy with a beard and director pants.

The movie "sphere" sucked with a vengeance. But the ring was pretty frightening.

The Ring was pretty scary and all, but I just didn't get it... there's so much in it that's not explained... maybe I should but a novel of it if there is one. All I know is a sequel is a requirement after all that...

The ring was not scary, but I liked the film a lot. Also, the original version (that japanese "Ringu" film) is way scarier.

Megaman, if you wanna get scared buy a book about Cthulhu miths, by HP Lovecraft and Co. Or read some old romantic-terror tales by Guy de Maupassant. They rock, and will scare you as well Smile
