VBDos is the best, it's compiler generates somewhat better code then the others.
But if you're an IDE freak you should use pds. Atleast while working and compile with vbdos. Personally i don't like any of the IDEs becuase the simple fact that they try to force a coding style on you which i despise. I usally use ultraedit or visual slickedit while working and compile with vbdos. I find it to be the best solution.
oship me and i will give you lots of guurrls and beeea

That sounds better. I'll give it a try.

Microsoft and freeware are incompatible therms.
Downloading QB45, QB71 or VBDOS is virtually illegal. But hey, abandonware works. And rules.

Someone sent an email to MS asking about the status of QBasic and its legality, and they said in return that they "don't support" it anymore, but not that it was illegal...

Well, until MS release it as freeware, it will keep being commercial software, so downloading it is stealing from microsoft, one thing that I LOVE doing.

Oh dear; I don't want to steal from anyone. I downloaded it, but have deleted it just in case. I'll stick with my QB4.5, which I'm sure I downloaded legally. Oh well.

Where to BUY Qbasic then
Ask this from Microsoft...
I think the best is QB 4.5 because it supports most of the libraries, and it's easy to install, and don't have got millions of files like 7.1. This is important because sometimes I need to work with programs which has external files...
And download FFIX to fix it's floating point problems, and increase speed!

Oh, no, be sure that M$ don't even care if you do. Go and download QB71 or VBDOS. Anyhow, QB45 isn't freeware either.
