Don't understand it. What's the problem with LINE?

An operating system is a program in which to run other programs. By this definition, KAOS (as it was called at the time), was an OS. It was as much an OS as Windows 9x...basically, an MSDOS extender. While it did not natively run MSDOS applications (only its own proprietary format), it had a multitasking kernel and its own filesystem.

By "true OS", you refer to an OS which is not a "piggyback" OS, and in that case...you are correct...making an OS in QB is impossible.

And also...KAOS wasn't visual. You could add a visual shell but it in and of itself was console-based.

I also changed its name later to "SockOS". hehehe memories... Tongue
