vegetarian

To me, vegetarians are nuts. They are missing the best part of the meal: A good bistec.

Human raze is "designed" to eat both vegetables and meat. Being vegetarian is just not natural.

Human are *very* adaptable. You'll be very amazed at what you can live and grow on. Slightly off topic but does anyone think a kid can grow up living only on plain chocolate bars?

Just chocolate bars? I wouldn't believe that.

Well, I was a vegetarian (along with most of my immediate family) for most my life. It was alright, although I did have (maybe 2 or 3 times a year) a leg of chicken once in a while.
We stopped our vegetarianism (that a word?), however, when we all realized that we were slightly B12 vitamin deficient. Now we eat meat once every few weeks.
BTW, being a vegetarian doesn't mean you just eat greens. My diet included kale, chard, tofu, beans, cheese, noodles...and a few other things.

bah. humans dont need meat. all your body knows is calories and nutrients, you fill that and it's happy.

People go on vegetarian diets thinking they will be healthier, when in reality all they have to do is look at what they are eating (prolly a lot of fast food, fried junk food, etc.) and eat a well balanced meal. Meat does not equal saturated fat if 1) you trim the fat off, 2) you select low fat cuts 3) you cook it in a healthy way (roasted, vapor, oven, NOT FRIED!) and 4) you dont slather it with butter, sauce, cheese, etc. For example, a roasted chicken breast with a nice mixed salad will be much better for you than say, a baked potato slathered in butter and fried broccoli. See my point?

Well, yeah, you make a good point Rhiannen. It's sort of dumb to be a vegetarian if you put a crapload of oily dressings and crutons in your salad, or do stuff like that. But eating less or no meat is usually a general effect of just trying to eat healthier. Eating grilled, lean chicken all the time gets old.

Me? I like big steaks, heavy hamburgers and Italian dishes with a lot of meat and cheese. My meal plan only allows me one prepaid meal a day, I'm not going to waste it by eating "healthy" Wink

Rhia: Yep. I agree. In fact, I enjoy very much steamed tofu with spinach and bok-choy (chinese cabbage) on top of soba noodles. Sprinkled with a little bit of cheddar.
