Happy Thanksgiving AAP although Thanksgiving is not about "giving thanks to God", it is a day for peace and celebration regardless. It is a day of "what you make it"...it is a day of friendship and mutual respect. So on this day of friendship and mutual respect, I wish you well, as well as everyone else in the Qmunity.

I'm not Christian, I'm Leviathanistic (something I don't expect anyone here to understand, except a couple of people), but I celebrate Thanksgiving as well, because it is an American holiday (not a Christian one), and I am an American, born in Tennessee in the spring of 1975, at the height of disco fever! Part Native American, part Quebeccian, and part Japanese, I'm a mutt! My ancestors were a part of the "original" Thanksgiving, so needless to say, stories have come down through my family.

As Nekrophidius has indicated, Thanksgiving is an American holiday in which the friendship between the Native Americans and the Pilgrims is remembered, since the Native Americans helped the Pilgrims to survive the long winter in New England. How it was thus converted to a Christian holiday of giving thanks to their deity is a question that will need to be researched.

Nonetheless, a pleasant day for those that will be celebrating with their families and friends.

You will never ever ever ever get through to either AAP or oracle about this subject, actually. Many have tried, ___all have failed___, because...well, reasons I won't get into at the moment, considering what day today is. There are a lot of ***misconceptions*** about certain people's contributions to the scene, and those misconceptions are ___defended blindly___. The only thing you can realistically do is simply ignore the brownnosing and favorites-playing and/or hang out at a forum where such things don't exist (like blissdev, the basic network, vplanet, etc etc etc)...
