Because any teacher who teaches QBASIC in school is a retard and is using material from the 1970's. And that is just that. *Period!* Wink

I was taught those redundant things too...it came from my first expirience with QB - a book. Old, too.

Freebasic is like QB, except it doesn't suck.

Rhiannon pulled out a BASIC programming book from the storage area of our house a few weeks ago. It was pre-QB by about 10 years. Holy buttmonkeys was it outdated. Needless to say...we didn't use THAT book Wink so I started teaching her personally how to code in QB. So far so good too, she's learning quickly Big Grin

I wish I had had a personal teacher when I was beginning programming! My dad helped with logic...but I had to rely on myself+a couple crappy books and tutorials.

That's the way it was first done, so that's the way ancient teachers teach it. All of us here know better though... LET (+1 space) is 4 precious bytes out of a 64K limit!!
