Quote:I stumbled upon CamStudio, an open-source free alternative, though some guy said that "I prefer Camtasia Studio but it is expensive
Thats what i use, a bit laggy though, i reccoreded a bit of The Terror a long time ago and it seemed to work, but for some reson i could never get sound to work...

On the plus side, in allegro set_screen_windowed lets me have it recordable..

and dont try recoreding anything fullscreen with it, it wont work.

Well, you want a cheaper alternative? Do you feel confident with your 1337 programming 5k1llz? [Image: biglaugh.gif] Just make your own code to output screens of your game at a constant rate, and then assemble them into a MPG. [Image: tongue3.gif]

Some considerations for the above suggerence:

- Save in the fastest format. Usually BSV dumps. [Image: icon16.gif] Remember that you'll compress the whole thing later.
- Isn't always needed to export every frame. 24 fps should be enough. Heck, 15, even 8 fps can be enough for some games!
- You can add sound by simply redirecting the speakers output to be the source of recording. Most of the (decent) soundcards can do this.
- Keep the size of your trailer small! (well, that's a rule of thumb for any movie published for internet)

Just that.
