And then what would I do?
I got the client. Do I connect to my domain name (www.thegeekery.org) on port 23 (telnet)? I can connect like that, but...then what? :???:

You connect to the domain or IP (if you have one). It should then ask for a login which will be your login followed by password. Then you are at a command type prompt. Type "ls" (without quotes) and it will list files.

It may not work on telnet, it may use SSH if so select that.
