These questions have probably been asked a couple of times, but I don't have the answers...
These are the files I have in my directory. Some of them are clear for me, some of them not. I will point them out with a "*" here


QB.EXE
BC.EXE
LIB.EXE
LINK.EXE

These Libs: how does QB use them
*BCOM45.LIB
*BQLB45.LIB
*BRUN45.LIB
QB.LIB
*QB_EDR.LIB

QB.BI
QB.INI
QB.QLB

The help files: what do they each contain?
*QB45ADVR.HLP
*QB45ENER.HLP
*QB45QCK.HLP

This OBJ file. A for me, OBJ files are relocatable programs, that must be linked before becoming an executable...

Hrmm. I don't know sure but I can say the following:

BCOM45.LIB and BRUN45.LIB are required if you want to make stand-alone EXEs.

BQLB45.LIB is required by LINK.EXE to make QLBs out of LIBs.

I never heard about QB_EDR.LIB.

QB45ADVR.HLP, dunno
QB45ENER.HLP, dunno
QB45QCK.HLP, quickhelp in the IDE

There is no QB45ADVR.OBJ in my QB...

That helps!

The only method I know in these cases is to move the files one by one away from the directory, make tests, and see if something stops working.

I'm not sure, but I think the .OBJ may be used when someone wants to customise the help files. But it's just a best guess!

I think that some members have boxed copies of QB45. Ask them for the original files included in the package. Here is a list of mines:

Jark: you are missing all the example files. They are referenced from the QB help in several examples. Do you want to contact me so I can send you the complete package?
