Does anyone here play the great game "Core War"? If you don't know what it is, check out

I've heard of it from some programming book... you code a robot and it fights with other coded bots over the CPU (old lingo: 'core') of the computer, or something like that

Well, yeah, two people write programs in a trimmed-down assembly language and let them loose in a simulated computer to destroy each other.
It's cool, but not for stupid people like me who have too much Ancient History homework
