Anyone here play Core War?
#1
Does anyone here play the great game "Core War"? If you don't know what it is, check out www.corewar.sourceforge.net . Just wondering because I began to play it a bit in the last few days. Can't make it do much, though Wink.

I've heard of it from some programming book... you code a robot and it fights with other coded bots over the CPU (old lingo: 'core') of the computer, or something like that

Well, yeah, two people write programs in a trimmed-down assembly language and let them loose in a simulated computer to destroy each other.

It's cool, but not for stupid people like me who have too much Ancient History homework Wink.

Well, I don't mind history, actually sometimes I quite like it, but not when I get swamped with questions about Pompeii...
